Friends’ Board Member Named President of Hudson River Park Trust

Madelyn Wils, a member of the Friends of Hudson River Park Board of Directors since 2006, and an Executive Vice President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation was today appointed as the new President of the Hudson River Park Trust, the city-state agency that builds and maintains the Park by the Trust’s Board of Directors.   Read more
Making the Dream of Hudson River Park a Reality

In an op-ed published in today’s Villager, Friends Executive Director A.J. Pietrantone explains the strategic changes that we are making to secure the future of the Park, by shifting our emphasis from advocacy to fundraising in the pursuit of our mission of a complete and well maintained Hudson River Park. Pietrantone describes how Friends is working to bring together, “… generous Park contributors from throughout the city to create a larger resource pool to directly support the park, its programs and upkeep … that will enable us to do more for the park that the community has come to love.”   Read more
Three Historic Ships Headed for Park’s Pier 25 in May

Since our founding, Friends of Hudson River Park has regularly worked with the Hudson River Park Trust and other community organizations in offering public education programs that help visitors learn about New York City’s long maritime history. The Tribeca Trib reports on the expected new berths for the Lilac, Tug Pegasus and Clipper City at the newly opened Pier 25 in Hudson River Park in its current issue, and we look forward to their impending arrival.  Read more
