Welcome to the Chelsea section of Hudson River Park!
Horatio Street to West 30th Street
The Chelsea section is approximately one mile long, with construction on Piers 62 and 63 underway and scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010. They, along with the recently opened Pier 64, will comprise Chelsea Cove, a beautiful stretch of land that will include grassy lawns, gardens, a carousel, and a skate park. Chelsea is already the destination spot for the many outdoor enthusiasts who flock to it for its fabulous recreational and athletic facilities. Dominating this section, Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex features indoor ice skating rinks, rollerblading rinks, a health club and swimming pool, several indoor sports venues, two banquet halls, and a marina. The section also includes Chelsea Waterside Park, offering vast playing fields, an expansive dog run, and a basketball court, and the Frying Pan, a 1929 lightship used by the U.S. Coast Guard as a floating lighthouse, and now a great place for drinks and conversation.
