About this year's honorees:
Rich Caccappolo
Past President, Greenwich Village Little League
Rich is a proud Greenwich Village resident, devoting personal time, energy, and financial support to the many neighborhood organizations with which he is associated. He is a Board Member of the Coro New York Leadership Center and has been a long-time volunteer for neighborhood youth sports programs including Downtown United Soccer Club and Greenwich Village Little League, where he served as President for several years. He is also a dedicated member of the Pier 40 Partnership, which is committed to rebuild Pier 40 and ensure its community-friendly development. He and his wife Nancy feel fortunate to live, work and raise their family in NYC, and Friends of Hudson River Park is privileged to have their involvement.
Matthew Washington
Executive Director, Friends of the High School for Environmental Studies
After five years at Friends of Hudson River Park, Matthew was recently named Executive Director of The Friends of the High School for Environmental Studies – his alma mater. As Deputy Director here at FoHRP, Matthew played a key role in our advocacy efforts and outreach to community organizations and elected officials, created original public programs, and managed all other policy work. He currently serves as President of Manhattan’s Community Board 11, and on the Board of the NYC Chapter of the New York League of Conservation Voters. His contributions will have a lasting impact on Friends and Hudson River Park.
