Friends’ Stewardship Program brings together a dedicated group of members who embrace a special relationship with Hudson River Park and our organization.

Since our founding in 1999, Friends has helped secure over half of the $420 million already designated for capital funding of the Park.  To complete the Park, we will need to secure $200 million more.  Furthermore, once completed the Park will require additional resources to ensure its proper maintenance. The unique commitment and generosity of our Stewardship Program donors enables Friends to assume an even greater role within the Park and will make this work possible.

In addition to the added benefits we provide for their support, we invite this dedicated group of members to partner with us by employing their influence and expertise to help pave the way forward, as well as sustaining park operations.

Contributions made through the Stewardship Program provide vital support for our advocacy efforts and strengthens the community’s voice in the Park’s design, completion, and protection – defining its rightful place as the largest open space to be created in New York City in over 150 years. Those contributing at the Advocate level and above (see below) will also enable Friends to provide resources directly to the Park for its operations, maintenance, activities and programs.

As we intensify our efforts to complete Hudson River Park, Friends must ensure the availability of resources to care for areas of the Park already open to the public, and push for the hastened completion of those areas still incomplete.  Our passionate Stewardship Program members help Friends reach out and expand our constituency – facilitating stronger ties between the Park and the communities it serves and ensuring that funding is available to maintain the Park’s open areas.

Stewardship Program members at all levels are invited, at various times throughout the year, to join us for advanced briefings concerning current Park events and informative talks on other topics pertaining to Hudson River Park.  In addition, these members receive the following benefits:
