Friends’ Executive Director A.J. Pietrantone spoke on October 15th, at the Community Rally for Hudson Rise, the alternative proposal for a more economical, neighborhood-friendly and sustainable sanitation garage in lower Manhattan.
Attendees heard about the City’s flawed proposal to spend
half a billion dollars on the Spring Street Garage, a two-block long, 138' high maintenance facility and parking garage for garbage trucks and an 8,000 ton salt shed across the street, less than a block from a residential building and why the AIA award-winning alternative is better for Hudson River Park.
